We're very excited to be a part of the inaugural New Zealand Bicycle Film Festival this month thanks to the lovely hosts at Nga Taonga Sound and Vision. Basically it's exactly what the name suggests - a festival showcasing a range of cycling related films, documentaries, discussions, workshops and activities.
We'll be down there on Friday April 8th from 5pm with Goldsprints! A chance to ride stationary bikes against friends or the clock - a great way to settle those old 'who's faster' feuds with your riding mates. Following the Goldsprints there will be a screening of Bikes vs Cars, a documentary about the challenges facing cyclists from cities around the world who're trying to make their streets safer and more enjoyable to ride on. Following the screening will be a panel discussion focusing on cycling issues in Wellington. The perfect way for any cyclist to spend their Friday evening.
The NZBFF is not only a great way to help the Wellington cycle community grow and interact, but a way to get more people talking about how we can work together on issues facing the city as a whole. We want more people to cycle for transport, we want drivers to respect cyclists on the road and we want to celebrate the love of riding for enjoyment. Events like this are a great way to get more people thinking and talking about these topics. The Bicycle Junction team will be down there enjoying the visual feast and we hope to see you there!
