Bicycle Junction are proud to announce that we are now NZ's sole dealer for Faraday Electric Bikes. Faraday bikes are much celebrated for their performance and beauty and have won several awards since their launch a few years ago. We are excited to receive our first shipment of Faraday Porteur and Cortlands during October. From today we are open for pre-orders and we expect to have demo bikes available to test ride from September.
The Faraday story began when a team of designers and engineers were asked to design the ultimate modern utility bicycle. The challenge was posed by the Portland-based bicycle design and innovation contest named The Oregon Manifest. Faraday saw an opportunity to create a totally unique electric bike and worked nights and weekends for 6 long months to bring that vision to life.
Faraday was unveiled alongside entries from some of the top design firms and bike builders in the US. In online judging, voters from around the world selected Faraday as the People’s Choice winner.
The company's success showed the enormous potential for a better electric bike. On the heels of the popular vote, Faraday turned to Kickstarter for its commercial launch. The company was founded and Kickstarted on July 19, 2012, reaching its funding goal of $100,000 within a week and going on to raise over $175,000 from hundreds of supporters around the world.
By January of 2014, Faraday’s first production run of Porteurs was underway. They worked with their manufacturing partners to address problems and practice continual improvement - part of Faraday’s tireless commitment to refining and enhancing their products.
The recently released step thru model called the Cortland and both styles are coming direct to our shores in October. To pre-order a Faraday Porteur or Cortland from Wellington's urban electric bike specialists just email us at email@example.com.
