MEET THE CANDIDATES: TRANSPORT SPECIAL

6 - 8 PM TUESDAY 6TH OCTOBER

Wellington is a great place to live, work and visit. Transport and the provision of transport infrastructure promise to be areas contested in this election. Improvements are needed to make our transport system work for everyone, and make the most of what the city has to offer.

Join us for an evening talking transport at Bicycle Junction, where we will be joined by candidates from Wellington Central, Ōhāriu and Rongotai. Bryan Crump will MC the discussion, giving candidates 1 minute each to pitch, then will keep the Q&A session strictly on the topic of transport.

Doors open 15 mins before. The cafe will be open for light refreshments.

FAMILY CARGO BIKE PICNIC

12 - 5 PM SUNDAY 25TH OCTOBER

Unite families who cargo bike - or those who want to bike - to share some kai and kōrero.

Bring your cargobikes, ebikes, bike trailers, kids seats, tag-alongs, box bikes and more. It's a chance to get to know the other parents you've seen pedalling 1, 2 or 3 kids around Wellington by bike. Share stories, get kid-hauling life-hacks and get to know each other. It's also a chance for your family-bike-curious friends to come and see what it's all about. Share your favourite tips and tricks with those who are keen to know more, and enjoy a fun cruisey ride around the bays. BBQ at Scorching Bay at 3pm with plenty of activities for the kids.

12 pm - meet at Shelly Bay

1 pm - cruisey ride to Scorching Bay

3 pm - BBQ at Scorching Bay

The event is free for everyone and we hope you can bring something to share for the picnic. Keep an eye on facebook as we will cancel if the weather isn't looking good.

Th event is supported by Greater Wellington Regional Council, as part of Bike Fest. Stay tuned for updates.

GO BY BIKE DAY

7 - 8:45 AM WEDNESDAY 28TH OCTOBER

Riding a bike around Wellington? Cheers to you! With a new date in October, there is no better time to dust of your bike after winter and come down to the waterfront. There will be selection of tasty treats, free coffee, as well as prizes and challenges for everyone to get involved with.

MOON CYCLES: NEXT LEVEL BIKE RAVE

8:30 - 11:30 PM FRIDAY 30TH & SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER

Moon Cycles is BACK! It's a Bike Rave...but we're taking it Next Level. The Sensonauts in collaboration with Bicycle Junction and theatremaker Sabrina Martin present Moon Cycles - a Journey of the Senses. Originally scheduled for last March, this sold-out event was postponed due to Covid. We're stoked to confirm the new date, and this time with two shows.

Jump on your bike, cycle with us through the velvety darkness, and dance your heart out. On each stop of the journey, you'll open up another sense, with performance artists crafting experiences for you. Sound...sight...touch...smell...taste...find out what sensations we have in store for you! It's both the Full Moon and Beltane, the pagan celebration of summer's return - so the time is ripe to explore and adventure under the orb of the night.

Bling your bike up with lights, adorn yourself with your glitziest costume and get ready to rave! This will be a fun and sensory evening, cruising through the streets of Wellington and discovering delights along the way.

Buy your ticket quick because they won’t last long!
