What it's built for:
The Samedi series from French manufacturer Moustache is billed as their most versatile line, built for the day-in-day-out commuter who wants a bike that encourages them to take the road less traveled on the way home. They are bread and butter commuter bikes with a bit of mountain bike flair thrown in for extra utility. The Open Xroad variants in the line are built to keep all the commuting and adventure friendly goodness in a bike with an unmatched low-step design; it's perfect for smaller riders, those with limited mobility, or anyone who just wants a bike that's easier to get on and off of while it's loaded up for their commute.
Why we love it:
In total there are 13(!) different models in the Samedi line so while they all cross the line between commuting and adventure they each have their own unique approach to creating a great bike. This Open Xroad 2 variant is actually a bit of a spiritual successor to the much-loved (and now discontinued) Moustache Lundi, with its striking ultra-low-step design it certainly looks like a Lundi. But it has a few more tricks up its sleeves that make it even more rider-friendly, like a cleverly integrated battery pack in the frame to keep the weight low and centered, and a chatter-busting suspension fork and seat post for one buttery smooth ride.
Though we’re a bike shop that sells, builds and fixes bicycles, they’re really just the means to an end; albeit a beautifully designed means to an idyllic end. Our job most importantly is to encourage as many people as we can to get out and ride for transport and enjoyment. We'd love to make riding a bike as commonplace as your morning cup of coffee, which by the way is our other obsession.
