Alert Level 3 Trading

During Covid Alert Level 3 our workshop and online sales will be open but our physical store and Cafe will be closed. While we recognize people need a sensible, healthy and safe means of transport we want to balance this with maintaining social distancing measures and avoiding a relapse into Level 4 lockdown. The more we can do to mitigate transmission the sooner we can open all sections of our business to the public again. 

Here are some FAQ's to keep you up to date on how we are trading.

 

Is the Workshop open?

Yes, by appointment only. Appointments can be made by using our online booking form here.  The workshop will be open Monday to Friday 9am to 3 pm for all repairs but those repairs will not be conducted at our Marion st store, they will instead be conducted at our off-site workshop. Is the shop open?

Our physical store at 1 Marion St is not open to the public at this time. No-one will be permitted to enter. It will however be fulfilling Click & Collect orders between the hours of 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 12pm Saturday (further details below). Our store will re-open at Level 2. If you are nearby and would like a tube or something not otherwise listed online, call us on 04 385 2362 to discuss your needs.

 

Is the cafe open?

No, the cafe will remain closed until Level 2. Our cafe is not just a place to get a coffee fix or a sandwich. It is a social hub for people to meet or do business and be inspired by being surrounded by beautiful bikes.  We would love to serve you coffee in a beautiful and social environment. That time will come again soon.

 

What if I want to buy something that is not listed online?

Email us at shop@bicyclejunction.co.nz any time or call us on 04 385 2362 during our opening hours and we will assist you as best we can. We can take payments by bank transfer, by card over the phone or by paywave at our contactless collection desk. If you need a tube, a tyre, a bike that's not listed or simply some expert advice, get in touch!

 

Can I collect items from your store?

Yes, if you purchase items online through our online store or if you've ordered something by phone or email you can choose to collect outside our store at 1 Marion St.

We will set up a collection window on the street-front for any purchase you have made.  When you arrive, please call us on 04 385 2362 and state your name and the order you wish to collect.  We will place it on the collection window for you to take. If there is any money owing we will place the eftpos terminal for you to pay by paywave.

If you are collecting a bike you have purchased, we will not be able to run through our usual set of handover instructions. Please understand we will simply place the bike outside, spray it with sanitiser and stand away so you can take your bike. Instead of the usual handover, we ask instead that when you get home you give us a call and we will run through all the relevant info about charging, unlocking the battery, maintenance and warranty etc over the phone.  We also have some helpful handover videos here.

 

Can I take a test ride on a bike?

Yes, if it is important in making your final decision about which bike is right for you we can arrange a time for a test ride by appointment only. We can also offer 24hr test rides of Cargo bikes.

If your purchase is not urgent then lets just discuss all the options over the phone or by email and line up the test rides for when we change to Level 2.  

 

What hours are you open?

Our workshop will be repairing bikes between 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday. Please make a booking for drop-off as bikes will not be accepted without a prior booking. 

Our shop will be open for collection of new bikes, parts and accessories from 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 12pm Saturday. Please buy online or by phone or email before coming to the store. For the safety of our staff, we will not be able to come outside to discuss your needs so if you need to talk to us please call.

Shop:

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and our customers is our priority. Here are the measures we are taking to mitigate risk from Covid 19 while still ensuring we can provide a living wage to our staff and reliable and safe transport for our customers.

  • No customers are permitted in store
  • Contactless payment options - Bank transfer or paywave or online purchase
  • Maximum three staff in store at any time
  • Social distancing measures between staff in line with government recommendations.
  • Thorough sanitising of touch points and surfaces
  • Thorough sanitising of test ride bikes before and after each test ride.
  • Thorough daily general cleaning schedule including all outdoor handles and touch points.
