Raised in less-than-mainstream ways, Sophie has always been immersed in some form of outdoor pursuit. She sailed the seven seas as a youngster before taking to the land. Sophie’s father would take her to Woodhill Forest to ride bikes, her mother to ride horses. Gradually the horses took over, but while studying Zoology and Marine Science in Dunedin, Sophie rekindled the old love for bikes. Nowadays, Sophie bikes for sustainable and affordable transport as well as for mountain adventures. At Bicycle Junction, she can typically be found curing caffeine cravings and talking bikes, bits, bobs, and other irrelevant banter.
