What it's built for:
The Charger3 is Riese & Müller’s latest iteration of their venerable do-it-all city commuter. A hardtail frame and suspension fork balance performance and comfort for an unbeatable ride whether you’re headed to work or out on gravel roads for a weekend adventure. As with all R&M’s you have a plethora of color and configuration options to get a bespoke bike built just for you, and on the Charger3 you get the option of doubling your battery capacity for more power and range than ever. This Vario version uses an R&M specific Enviolo infinite-shift internal-hub gearing system that provides a wide range with no conventional “gears”; the chain is then replaced with an ultra-low maintenance belt for hassle-free riding. This Mixte frame version uses a low-step design great for shorter riders or those with mobility issues, but it works great for riders of all shapes and sizes. The HS version upgrades to Bosch’s Performance Line Speed motor which increases maximum assisted speed to a zippy 45kph.
Why we love it:
The Charger3 finds a perfect balance between performance, utility and comfort making it an electric commuter that’s hard not to love. With an integrated rear cargo carrier and optional front rack you’ll have plenty of options for taking everything you need along, while a fully-equipped build kit means this bike is ready to ride every day as soon as it leaves the shop. But the Charger3 goes further than other commuter bikes with a design that begs to leave the city streets behind on the weekends and get out to explore. Add on the ability to double your battery capacity and we’re smitten.
