What it's built for:
The Packster 40 is Riese & Müller’s most compact, front-loading cargo bike. With a compact-but-useful cargo deck and a 160kg weight capacity but a length just a hair longer than a conventional bike the Packster 40 is the front loader for those of us who are a bit tight on space, or who only need to carry one child around at a time. This compact cargo hauler offers a more conventional cargo platform upfront than bikes like the Load giving you more options to configure it to your liking, but because it’s an R&M you know that there is a suite of bespoke accessories available to tailor the bike to your needs. This Touring version uses a conventional derailleur system for a wide range of smooth-shifting gears with parts that can easily be serviced and replaced. The HS version upgrades to Bosch’s Performance Line Speed motor which increases maximum assisted speed to a zippy 45kph.
Why we love it:
The Packster is a wildly useful and fun-to-ride cargo bike that provides thoughtful touches at every turn. It has a flat cargo platform so your creativity can run free and customisation knows no bounds. Need to haul the kids one day and washing machine the next? The Packster is ready for it all and so much more.
