What it's built for:
The distinctive Tinker from Riese & Müller is the premium brand’s compact commuting machine! With compact 20” wheels and a clever folding handlebar this little bike fits where others just can’t, onto crowded trains into closets and under desks, the Tinker slips right into your life and makes riding a joy. But while it’s compact in size it doesn’t skimp on functionality; a full suite of commuter-friendly accessories means it’s just as capable as its larger siblings. This Touring version uses a conventional derailleur system for a wide range of smooth-shifting gears with parts that can easily be serviced and replaced. The HS version upgrades to Bosch’s Performance Line Speed motor which increases maximum assisted speed to a zippy 45kph.
Why we love it:
City living can sometimes be a compact affair so many of us need a bike that fits into our lives and not the other way around. The Tinker’s clever design makes the bike not only easy to fit into tight spaces but a joy to ride as well. Plus you know the engineers at R&M didn’t leave out their signature thoughtful touches, full-wrap fenders, bright integrated lights, and a standard cargo rack that carries up to 20kg means this little bike goes toe-to-toe with the best of them.
