Surly Trailer Yoke

Surly Trailer Yoke – the bit that makes the magic happen.
This is the key connection between your Surly Bill or Ted trailer and your bike—essentially the backbone of the setup. Built from tough-as-nails chromoly steel, the Yoke is designed to be adaptable and reliable, handling heavy loads and varied terrain like a champ.

It’ll slot in with bikes running 120mm to 145mm rear hub spacing, and thanks to a smart offset design, it keeps the trailer tracking nicely behind your rear wheel—even on bikes with disc brakes, full suspension, racks or fenders. Whatever your rig, there’s a good chance this’ll fit.

Key Details

  • Fits rear hubs 120–145mm wide

  • Works with wheel sizes 20”–29”

  • Made from bombproof chromoly

  • Adjustable to keep your trailer centred

  • Compatible with racks, guards, and disc brakes

What about your axle?
The Yoke doesn’t do much on its own—you’ll need an axle adapter to hook it to your bike. Here’s how to match it up:

  • Quick-release bike? Grab Surly’s special trailer skewer. It replaces your standard QR and adds the mounting points you need.

  • Bolt-on axle? Surly also make trailer-specific axle nuts (10x1mm) for solid axles.

  • Thru-axle? You’ll need a Robert Axle Project thru-axle adapter. They make versions to fit Surly’s MDS, Gnot Boost, and other setups. We’ll help you find the right one.

Bring your bike in or get in touch—we’ll get your trailer setup sorted so you can start hauling with confidence.

About Us

Though we’re a bike shop that sells, builds and fixes bicycles, they’re really just the means to an end; albeit a beautifully designed means to an idyllic end. Our job most importantly is to encourage as many people as we can to get out and ride for transport and enjoyment. We'd love to make riding a bike as commonplace as your morning cup of coffee, which by the way is our other obsession.
