A custom build ready to take on the world.
Roger came to us with a clear brief. He wanted something robust and self-sufficient. A bike that wouldn’t flinch when the road disappeared. Something capable of handling remote bikepacking adventures, with Patagonia first on the list.
At the core of the build is reliability. A SON 29 S dynamo hub paired with a Sinewave Beacon light and USB charger means power is always on. Lights when you need them, devices topped up when you're days from a wall socket. It’s the kind of setup that quietly does its job in the background, letting you focus on the ride.
Comfort becomes everything when the days get long and the terrain gets rough. A Redshift ShockStop PRO suspension stem takes the edge off constant vibration and chatter, reducing fatigue through the hands and shoulders. Paired with the ShockStop PRO Endurance seatpost, it smooths out the kind of roads that would normally wear you down over time.
The build centres around a Brother Cycles Mehteh frameset in Tequila Sunrise, matched with a wide flare Kitchen Sink handlebar for control and stability when things get loose. Handbuilt Wheelworks alloy wheels are laced to a SON dynamo hub up front and a Hope Pro 5 at the rear, striking a balance between durability and serviceability.
A Shimano GRX RX820 2x12 drivetrain keeps things versatile, offering a wide range for loaded climbing while still feeling fast and efficient when the terrain opens up. An Old Man Mountain Elkhorn rack adds serious carrying capability without compromise, and finishing touches like a Wolf Tooth headset and bottom bracket, along with Time ATAC pedals, round out a build that’s ready for the long haul.
It’s the kind of bike that doesn’t just handle big trips. It invites them.
