Abus Adaptor Chain 2.0

The ABUS Adaptor Chain 2.0 is a plug-in chain for compatible ABUS frame locks. It lets you secure the bike to a fixed object using the frame lock already mounted on the bike, without carrying a separate keyed lock.

This is the piece that makes a frame lock much more useful for everyday parking. A frame lock on its own stops the rear wheel from turning. Add the Adaptor Chain 2.0, and you can loop the chain around a rack, pole or other fixed object, then plug it straight into the lock body.

Why we like it

A frame lock is great for quick stops, but on its own it does not lock the bike to anything. The Adaptor Chain 2.0 solves that problem by giving the frame lock proper reach to a fixed object.

Compatibility and fit

The Adaptor Chain 2.0 is most useful when paired with a frame lock that lives on the bike. For quick stops, you can use the frame lock by itself. For longer stops, plug in the chain and secure the bike to something fixed.

For higher-risk parking, expensive e-bikes, cargo bikes or overnight storage, consider adding a second lock as well. A frame lock and adaptor chain are convenient, but a separate high-rated D-lock, folding lock or chain can still be the better choice when theft risk is higher.
