The ABUS Pro Shield XPlus 5955 NR is a frame-mounted rear wheel lock for quick, everyday bike security. It sits over the rear wheel and locks it in place, making it much harder for someone to simply roll the bike away.
This is a stronger and more refined option than a basic frame lock. It uses an ABUS XPlus cylinder, an 8.5 mm hardened steel shackle, and has a connection point for compatible ABUS plug-in chains. That makes it a good fit for city bikes, commuter e-bikes and cargo bikes where quick-stop convenience matters.

A frame lock is one of the easiest ways to add quick-stop security to a transport bike. Instead of pulling a lock out every time you pop into a shop, café or school gate, you can lock the rear wheel in a few seconds.
The Pro Shield XPlus 5955 NR adds better security to that everyday convenience. The XPlus cylinder is made to resist picking and tampering, while the hardened steel shackle gives stronger protection than a simple wheel lock.
The plug-in chain compatibility is the big practical advantage. With a compatible ABUS plug-in chain, you can lock the bike to a fixed object using the same frame lock, rather than carrying and managing a separate keyed lock.
This lock is designed to mount near the rear wheel using frame-lock mounting points. Fit still depends on the bike frame, tyre width, mudguards, rack, child seat, kickstand and any cargo accessories.
Before ordering, check that there is enough space around the rear wheel for the lock to sit squarely over the tyre and mudguard. The lock also needs to line up correctly with the mounting points so the shackle can pass through the wheel cleanly.
No frame-lock mounts? Some bikes can still use a frame lock with an adaptor strap. The ABUS Clutching Strap LH Adaptor is made to help mount compatible wheel locks to bikes that do not have dedicated frame-lock mounts.
If you are unsure, send us a photo of the rear wheel area from both sides. We need to see the seatstays, tyre, mudguard, rack, any child seat or cargo accessories, and any mounting points near the rear wheel.

A frame lock is very convenient, but it does not automatically secure the bike to a fixed object. For proper parking, especially with an e-bike, cargo bike or higher-value commuter, use it with a compatible plug-in chain, D-lock, folding lock or chain lock.
For quick stops, the Pro Shield XPlus 5955 NR is fast and easy. For longer parking, lock the frame to something fixed, choose a visible and well-lit spot, and use a stronger second lock where needed.
The ABUS Pro Shield XPlus 5955 NR is a practical frame lock for bikes used every day. Choose it if you want quick rear-wheel security with a better lock cylinder and the option to add a compatible plug-in chain for more useful bike parking.
