Aeroe Spider Rear Rack

Ask A Question x

The Aeroe Spider Rear Rack is a modular rear rack for carrying gear on bikes that do not suit a traditional rack. It straps securely to the bike, works without standard rack eyelets, and gives you a stable platform for dry bags, pods and Aeroe accessories.

This is a strong option for gravel bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, commuters and touring bikes where rear storage needs to be secure, adaptable and easy to remove between rides. The included cradle and built-in straps are designed to hold a dry bag, tent or similar soft gear without loose straps flapping around the bike.

Why we like it

The Spider Rear Rack solves a common bikepacking problem: plenty of modern bikes ride well off-road, but do not have the mounts needed for a normal rear rack. Aeroe’s strap-on system gives those bikes a practical way to carry gear without changing the frame or fork.

The included cradle is made for dry bags, tents and soft gear. It can be mounted on the top or sides of the rack, so you can set the bike up around the load rather than forcing everything into one position.

It is also a good system for riders who use one bike in different ways. You can keep it light for day rides, add an Aeroe dry bag for commuting, or build it out for bikepacking and touring with extra cradles, pods or other Aeroe accessories.

Best for

  • Gravel bikes, mountain bikes and e-bikes without traditional rack mounts
  • Bikepacking trips, overnight rides and touring setups
  • Commuters who want removable rear storage without fitting a permanent rack
  • Carrying dry bags, tents, spare layers, food or wet-weather gear
  • Riders who want one rack system that can be changed for different rides

Setup options

Included cradle: Use the supplied cradle and built-in straps for a dry bag, tent, sleeping gear or other soft load.

Extra cradles: Add more cradles to increase carrying options for bikepacking and touring.

Quick Mount Pod: Add an Aeroe pod if you want structured waterproof storage that clicks on and off quickly.

Pannier Receiver: Add the Aeroe pannier receiver if you want to run panniers. If panniers are the main goal from the start, the Spider Pannier Rack may be the better option.

Good to know

This is the standard Spider Rear Rack setup with one cradle and built-in straps. It is different from the Spider Pannier Rack, which comes set up for panniers.

The rack is rated to 16 kg, but carbon bikes are limited to 8 kg. Individual Aeroe cradles, pods and accessories may also have their own load limits, so check the limit for the exact setup you are using.

The rack fits tyres up to 3.8 inches wide, which covers most bikes apart from many fat bike setups. Before ordering, check tyre clearance, frame shape, brake hose routing, seatpost clearance and heel clearance with your planned bags.

As with any loaded setup, keep the weight stable, check the straps before riding, and recheck everything before rough roads, gravel or off-road sections.

Final word

The Aeroe Spider Rear Rack is the base of a very practical modular carrying system. Choose it if you want secure rear storage for bikepacking, touring, commuting or e-bike riding, especially on a bike that does not suit a standard bolt-on rack.
