The Brooks Cambium C17 is a comfortable all-weather saddle for riders who like the shape and feel of a classic Brooks, but do not want a leather saddle or the care that comes with one.
It uses a flexible vulcanised natural rubber base with a waterproof nylon top, so it has a bit of give underneath you while staying ready for commuting, gravel rides, touring and whatever Wellington’s weather department has decided to do today.

The C17 sits in a very useful middle ground. It has enough width and support for long days, but it is not a big upright city saddle. That makes it a strong match for commuter bikes, gravel bikes, touring bikes and all-road builds where you spend time leaning slightly forward.
The rubber construction gives the saddle natural flex, which helps take the edge off rough roads, chipseal and gravel paths. Unlike a leather Brooks, it does not need breaking in or regular leather care, so it is a little easier to live with if your bike gets used in all weather.
Choose the Cambium C17 if you want a durable, weather-ready saddle for commuting, touring, gravel riding or bikepacking. It makes particular sense on bikes that get ridden often, parked outside sometimes, or asked to do a bit of everything.
Saddle choice is personal, and position matters. The C17 is best suited to a moderately angled riding position. If you ride very upright, a wider saddle may suit you better. If you ride in a very low, sporty position, a narrower Brooks Cambium model may be a better fit.
This is the standard C17 Black, not the Carved version. If you usually prefer a pressure-relief cut-out, ask us about the Cambium Carved options.
The Cambium C17 is the Brooks for riders who want classic saddle comfort without leather fuss. It is sturdy, handsome, weather-ready and well suited to the kind of bike that might commute during the week and disappear down a gravel road on the weekend.
A good test ride is the most important factor when it comes to finding the right bike.
