The Brooks Swift is the sleekest leather saddle in the Brooks range. It is narrower than the classic B17 and made for riders in a more forward position, which makes it a good match for road bikes, gravel bikes and fast touring builds.

Handmade in England from vegetable-tanned leather, the Swift is built around the Brooks idea that a leather saddle should shape to the rider over time. It has hand-hammered copper rivets, hand-skived lower flaps and the classic Brooks rear backplate, giving it a more refined look than the standard touring models.

Why we like it

The Swift makes sense when a B17 feels too wide or too upright for the bike. It keeps the long-wearing feel of a traditional Brooks leather saddle, but in a narrower shape that better suits a lower, more active riding position.

That makes it a strong choice for gravel bikes, road-leaning commuters, randonneur builds and fast touring bikes where the rider is spending more time on the hoods or drops than sitting fully upright.

Best for

Choose the Swift if you like the feel and look of a leather Brooks saddle, but ride in a more forward position. It suits riders who want a narrower saddle for steady road miles, mixed-surface rides, longer gravel days and lighter touring setups.

Choose a B17 if you want a more general-purpose Brooks saddle for commuting, touring and a slightly more upright position. Choose a Cambium if you want a Brooks shape without leather care or break-in.

Good to know

Like most leather Brooks saddles, the Swift needs time to break in. It will feel firmer at first, then gradually shape to the rider with use.

Leather saddles also need a bit of care. Keep it out of heavy weather where possible, treat it with suitable Brooks leather care when needed, and use a saddle cover if the bike is regularly parked in the rain.

The Swift is not the best match for a very upright bike. If your riding position is more relaxed, a wider Brooks saddle will usually make more sense.
