Both Transporter2 models share the same core design philosophy: simple, tough, and highly configurable. The main decision comes down to how much space you need up front.
Main difference: load size
Transporter2 65: More compact and easier to manage in urban environments. A great everyday option for families and smaller commercial loads.
Transporter2 85: Maximum volume and flexibility. Designed for bulkier cargo, large transport boxes, and business use where space matters most.
The Transporter2 65
The Transporter2 65 is a practical, affordable cargo bike that excels at everyday tasks. With a generous loading surface and a payload capacity of up to 100 kg, it’s built to carry bulky shopping, up to two children, or even a pet without fuss.
A lockable glove compartment keeps straps and valuables tidy, while optional transport boxes and child accessories make it easy to adapt the bike to changing needs. For businesses, the Transporter2 65 is also available in a Business configuration and can be equipped with DualBattery for extended range.
Its low bottom bracket and quick-adjust cockpit make it especially well suited to shared use, whether that’s multiple family members or different riders at work.
The Transporter2 85
The Transporter2 85 takes things further with a longer and wider load surface and a potential cargo volume of up to 465 litres when paired with the right transport box. It’s the closest thing to a compact delivery vehicle on two wheels.
Choose from multiple sturdy transport boxes with gas-assisted lids, add rear carriers or baskets, and tailor the setup to your workload. With the same 100 kg payload capacity and optional DualBattery, it’s designed for heavy use without compromising stability or ride quality.
If you regularly move large or awkward loads, the Transporter2 85 offers the space and flexibility to make it easy.

Step 1: Build your ideal Transporter2 using the Riese & Müller configurator (choose 65 or 85, then select your preferred build and accessories).
Step 2: Copy the configuration code once you’ve finished.
Step 3: Send the code to us — whether you’re just enquiring or ready to place an order.
Pricing and shipping
All prices shown on the configurator are in NZD and include sea freight shipping. Typical lead time is 3–6 months.
Make sure the location is set to New Zealand. Air freight is available for faster delivery on most models but isn’t included in the configurator price — ask us about express shipping when you get in touch.
